Mission and Constitution


The Mission of the Club is to promote participation in Cross Country Skiing for Active Seniors 55+ combined with social events. Ancillary activities can include hiking and snowshoeing.

The Executive Committee consists of: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Past-President, Trip Convenor, Social Convenor and Membership Convenor. The Term of Office for Committee Members is 2 years.

Should it be necessary to replace a member of the Committee during his/her term of office, the Committee may appoint a replacement until the next election.

Annual membership fee is decided by the Executive Committee and is due and payable at the AGM or at the time when membership is renewed or granted to a new member.

Election of Executive Committee Members is held every second year.

A slate of nominations will be presented at the Annual General Meeting by the Chairperson of the Nominating Committee, appointed by the Executive Committee, and further nominations will be requested from the floor. Voting will be by show of hands.

The Club Annual General Meeting shall be held in the month of November or early December. Notice shall be sent out to the last known address of all members on record by mail at least two weeks prior to the meeting. A quorum for this meeting shall be 20% of the preceding year’s membership. Changes to the Constitution shall require at least a 50% vote by members at the AGM. Notice for the closing luncheon will be sent by e-mail with mail being used for those who do not have e-mail.
